artist statement
The motifs in these paintings are from nature,
our ever present and ever changing arena that
sprouts up, leans over and falls down. This
wobbly condition makes for an odd geometry
and an abstraction of familiar forms favorable
to my intention.
Yes, they are anthropomorphic. The titles
tell you so. Wistful but not sentimental and with a
resolution that resonates calm, they are neither
obtrusive nor obscure.
My sculptures, design work and books all share
this delicate connection with the natural world.
